Just over the horizon, off the coast from Wadeye beach, is one of the most important industrial developments in Australia's Top End. About 110 kilometres offshore stands the Blacktip gas wellhead platform, a facility owned and operated by the Italian-based energy multinational Ente Nazionale Idrocarburi (ENI), and the main fuel source for the Northern Territory's electricity generation.
