Author Biography:

Jack initially studied Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University and has held relevant roles in Australian Rules football at local, sub-elite and elite levels. He later completed a PhD in Sociology of Sport and taught at Victoria University. His current research is focused on the hard Right’s use of sport and physical training, Australian Rules football culture, and sport and social movements. He holds a researcher-in-residence position at Melbourne’s Living Museum of the West where he is investigating the 2019 Save Footscray Park campaign with Alex Ettling.
