Abstract:
The federal government has donated $3 million to museums in Australia to repatriate Aboriginal cultural heritage, most of which originated in Central Australia and is associated with secret men’s ceremonies. The dilemmas and rekindling of old hostilities in a community due to the return of these significant ritual objects are discussed.
