Abstract:
God’s back in fashion in the West. Or, at least, something of a similar order. There’s much talk of a New Age, of the end of the millennium, of ‘Otherness’, or of the need to bring forth an ‘inner self as the essence of human life. In a myriad of forms and a multitude of ways people are expressing dissatisfaction with the secular status quo, and a sense of loss of purpose and meaning in the everyday has become the norm.
