Abstract:
The present dissatisfaction with orthodox economics is not new. It began in the last century, but we will confine ourselves to this one. Sixty odd years ago the great British economist, J.M. Keynes, wrote an essay entitled The End of Laissez-faire’, in which he outlined the need for social control of the economy.
