Abstract:
Frederico Fellini remarked that everyone, at least from time to time, experiences ‘those family kind of feelings’. Perhaps, his is too broad-brush a statement but there are few who never give over to a sense of union, of pacific connection. Stimulated by custom or season – Christmas or Eid al Fitr, Thanksgiving or Passover – or more local prompts – birthdays or random acts of kindness and recognition – even the determinedly non-sentimental can find themselves misting up.
