Abstract:

Ninety years after the Armenian genocide of over one million Christian Armenians, the Turkish government remains in denial of the incident. The Armenian genocide is considered a prototypical genocide since it matches all the reasons outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. It is ironical that Turkey is expected to become a member of the United Nations in 2015 whose members did nothing to prevent the genocide.
