I am a long-time advocate of Australia becoming a republic and – like Marilyn Lake, Ann Curthoys and others – I, too, lament the absence of women from the republic debate. As Marilyn Lake observes in her excellent and welcome article, this important debate has largely failed to capture the imagination of the women of Australia.
