Les Rosenblatt: I’ve been reading about your important and lengthy engagement with human rights issues, international law, and most recently, since 2008, your work as UN rapporteur on the occupied territories in Palestine. Why has someone like yourself, whose focus is on and commitment is to engagement with the Middle East, come to Australia, which is about as far away from the Middle East as one can get?
