Abstract:
Halal food certification is a service provided by Islamic religious authorities to food manufacturers to certify that their processes and products meet the standards required by observant Muslims. These standards are generally associated with things like the presence of pork products and the use of alcohol in cleaning processes, which are considered haram (forbidden).
