Abstract:

Soon after I arrived in Greenland in 2006 my sister sent me an email saying, ‘You may as well be on the moon’. She was merely giving voice to the fact that for most people, at least in Australia, Greenland is off the radar. One doubted that there was a university in Greenland, while another burst into laughter when I mentioned the independence movement.
