Helen Gardner, Associate Professor in Pacific history at Deakin University and chair of the Journal of Pacific History, will chair the discussion.
Jonathan Ritchie, lectures at Deakin University and is a historian of Papua New Guinea from the Second World War to independence, on ’business as usual’ and the recent vote of no confidence
Ipul Powaseu, currently writing a PhD on disability in Papua New Guinea, on ‘Manus Island land owners, detention centre and naval base’
Brad Underhill, currently writing a PhD on Australia’s PNG policy after the Second World War, on ‘Australian aid to PNG and recent developments with China’
