Locking Australia in as the world's uranium quarry. The Olympic Dam uranium deposit in South Australia is by far the largest on earth. Although the uranium is low-grade, the volume is staggering, amounting to about 2.4 million tonnes (and counting) - 30 per cent of the world's known conventional uranium reserves. That's enough uranium to fuel the world's fleet of 430 power reactors for 40 years.
