Author Biography: Dr Jenny Grounds is a rural general practitioner and a longstanding board member and past president of Medical Association for Prevention of War Australia. In 2006-7 she and others in MAPW set up the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), which over a decade was influential in the campaign for the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017. Jenny is particularly concerned with profiteering from war and the power that weapons companies hold over countries, their politicians and institutions.
